I went to see my buddy Carlos from Tattoo Church do a collaboration with percussionist Gen Ogimi at the U-Port Hall in Gotanda. The event focused on the drum and 6 drummers/percussionists show their styles and techniques. Unbelivable cool to see these 6 guys doing their thing. Carlos drew a demon while Ogimi played, both visual and musical.

The Concrete Pier At 99Ri

On of Japans many unfinished concrete projects in the name of "protection from the elements". This long straight stretch of concrete was built a long time ago (the locals said it had always been there!) as a safe haven for ships during the typhoon season. It was never completed and serve mainly as a great place for the local anglers to wet their lines and catch up on the towns gossip. It was iwashi (kind of sardine) season when I went there and I was told that to deep fry was the preferred way so I ate five large ones fried in butter and bread crumbs that night, heavenly! The pier was littered with small dead sand sharks, these are seen as pests around here and are not released back when caught

To shoot someone like USUGROW is a true honor, to do it in Black&White even more. It's always a pleasure to meet people with booth feet steady on Terra Firma, with total control of his own actions and a simple but really nice developed sense of black and white.

Broken Heart, The day of a Road Kill...

Saw something on my way to our 2nd annual that made me think. The way the pigeons (how more free than a bird can you get...?) heart was pressed out of its body like on display, just proved that we are all pretty simple and better live that day to the fullest. With a still beating heart on the open hot asphalt and you are nothing more than an annoyance for your surrounding, just another stinking Road Kill...with a broken heart!
