A Sunday In August

I know the remedy for my since childhood quite disturbing Sunday Blues. That is to find something that keeps your mind so occupied that Sunday just quickly pays its duce without mercy so Monday can start without a trace of those haunting school going days, man did I hate most days before 18 years of age. What kept me occupied this Sunday was a medley of photogenic situations with people doing this and that, like.....

Seemed like I was not the only one suffering from Sunday Blues this day. It's just a level of how far you want to go to really kill it off, the limit is as you can see on various levels amongst our fellow earthlings... Always fun to see what other people actually do when they say they are having a good time, well...what can I say?....pretty lame!

1 YEAR (One Shot, One Kill) ANNIVERSARY

In August last year I sat down and started this blog out of pure boredom (I think!?). It has proved to be a pretty nice and helpful tool to be able to show more of my daily life and work to people out there in the world. I always get amazed when I check out the blogspotter on the bottom of this page, man, there are some people in Central Asia checking my blog out, some one in South Africa, Chile and a bunch of Kiwis as well. How cool isn't that? We (me, myself & I) will give it a push and aim for one more year at least or till the "BlogSpot" data base collapses. To my fellow global souls out there, keep your eyes open and your mind free.

Wingspan - ANA Inflight Magazine

Japans major airline ANA (All Nippon Airways) has a great inflight magazine called WINGSPAN and in this Augusts issue m.w.c.p produced an article with text and photos from a climb of Japans hightest and most respected peak i.e. Mt.Fuji. Having worked with writer Tony McNicol on stories for ANA & WINGSPAN in the past but this one being my first solo attempt, looked pretty cool. Within the range of true black and real white is where great photography comes from originally. I haven't been shooting much in this medium in the last couple of years so when I reviewed my old stock of black&white prints I was glad to find some that I think still pass the test of time. The whole perspective of your environment changes when you shoot black & white. With a roll of color film in the camera the eyes on pure reflex seek out the composition and balance between rich and less contrasty color tones. But with black&white it feels more like the wholeness of the composition and the balance between plus and minus gets a tighter grip on the images you see in the viewfinder. A more strict and direct direction which I like in photography and in other aspects in life in general. Keep it simple, clean and reachable.
